Professional Teeth Whitening

At Fine Dentistry By Design, you can restore your self-confidence through teeth whitening.

Cosmetic dental treatments can improve the appearance of your smile, boost your confidence, and help you feel more comfortable in your smile.

We are confident our team at Fine Dentistry By Design can offer you the best solutions to improve the aesthetics of your smile.

Cosmetic Dentistry aims to restore the quality and aesthetics of your smile and create a harmonious and balanced relationship between your smile and face. Our services include Porcelain Veneers, Dental Bonding, Teeth Whitening, and Gum Contouring.

Porcelain Veneers are a thin shell of porcelain placed on top of the tooth after removing a minimal amount of tooth structure. Veneers provide a natural form and can cover undesirable outlines, cracks and stains. Porcelain is a durable and aesthetic material, mimicking natural teeth with the added benefits of being resistant to staining.

Like Veneers, Dental Bonding is also used to improve the form of your teeth. However instead of placing a shell of porcelain over the existing tooth structure, dental bonding adds composite resin to fill in missing tooth structure, correcting form and maintaining a natural look. This procedure is great for filling in cracks or chips and even correcting gaps that have formed from tooth migration.

In-office teeth whitening is an excellent choice if you are looking to improve the shade of your teeth. Unlike at-home whitening solutions, which normally target surface-level stains, in-office whitening can utilize a higher concentration of hydrogen and carbamide peroxide to remove reactive pigments deep within the enamel.

Gum Contouring can address receded or overgrown gum lines. Aside from the aesthetic benefits, gum contouring can also improve your dental health by removing deep pockets and creating gum architecture that opposes food impaction and bacterial aggregation.

If you are feeling unsatisfied with your smile, please request a consultation. Our team would be thrilled to discuss available options, answer questions, and help you decide which procedure is best for you. We look forward to designing the future of your smile with you!

If you are unhappy with the shade of your teeth, in-office teeth whitening might just be the solution you are looking for. In-house teeth whitening can be effective in just one appointment. This means that just after one 30-60 minute treatment, you’ll be able to leave our clinic with a whiter and brighter smile.

Are You a Candidate for Teeth Whitening?

Before your procedure begins, we will perform an oral assessment to ensure your dental health is appropriate. Teeth whitening uses hydrogen and carbamide peroxide as bleaching agents to improve the shade of your teeth. Given the basic nature of the whitening solution, having unresolved dental issues may result in heightened tooth and gum sensitivity. If you have existing periodontal disease, cavities, or worn enamel, it is in your best interest to address these issues before proceeding with teeth whitening.

What Should I Know About Teeth Whitening?

Dark stained teeth may not see notable improvements in one or two sessions. Sometimes these dark stains don’t react at all to the whitening treatments. If whitening is not effective, we may consider other cosmetic options, such as veneers, to restore your smile.

We do not recommend whitening for children under the age of 16. Before then, the pulp chambers of teeth are enlarged. This increases the chance of the whitening agent irritating the pulp, resulting in hypersensitivity.

It is not advised to undergo whitening treatment if you are pregnant or lactating. The chemicals of teeth whitening agents may affect the health of your child and have adverse effects. There is little research regarding the safety of whitening treatment in pregnant women. Therefore we opt to err on the side of caution and advise against whitening in these situations.

Unlike enamel, the composite resin used for restorations does not react to whitening agents. The shade of the composite will not lighten along with the enamel during whitening. If you have composite placed in the aesthetic regions of your anterior teeth, your teeth may look blotchy and mismatched after treatment.
